St Kevins 3-1 Malahide Utd
Another large crowd was in attendance this Wednesday evening for the Sunday team's first home game of the season, the visiting team was none other than Malahide Utd. A tough game was expected due to the poor state of the pitch as well as the quality of the opposition and having beaten Home Farm the weekend before hand it was always going to be a worry for the coaches that there may be complacency within the team. But overall that wasnt the case, having sustained some very intense pressure in the first half we eventually took the lead through a fine finish from David O'Hanlon, we then went 2 goals to the good with a good goal from Sean Ryan, taking his tally to 3 goals in 2 games. Another spell of pressure led to Malahide getting a goal back, and while things may have been looking bad, an inspired tactical change from Matthew and Rob saw Sam Ennis consolidate the win having bagged the crucial 4th goal of the game, as it was important that we got the next goal. Sam had only been up front for 30 seconds and already he was giving goalscoring lessons... So another good win for the Sunday team, this one a bit more hardfought...
